A man has been left utterly amazed by the contents of his Too Good To Go bag, praising the company for its innovative idea.

The firm, Too Good To Go, is on a mission to combat food waste by encouraging cafes, restaurants, and to sell goods nearing their sell-by-date to peckish customers.

Using their , punters can see what local eateries have items for sale that would otherwise be chucked. These mystery bags are a steal - usually under £5 - and can contain a 'treasure trove' of goodies. Revealing what he found in his Blank Street bag, Ishan, known as @ishxn.a on , showcased each item in a now-viral video.

He starts by explaining how he nabbed the bag for just £3.50 - but the four items inside totalled £12.80. In bag number one, he was delighted with a pistachio pain au chocolate costing £3.40, followed by an almond croissant priced at £3.30, then a cinnamon bun at £3.20, and finally, a pistachio cookie at £2.90.

Describing their business model, a Too Good To Go statement reads: "Too Good To Go was founded in 2016 in Copenhagen to fight food waste. On the flip side, TikTok user Aaliyah Anderson aired her grievances after opening a Too Good To Go bag from which only set her back £2. Starting off hopeful, Aaliyah can be seen brandishing a sizeable Morrisons bag, declaring excitedly: "Look at the size of it!"

The mood was initially high as she whipped out the first item, a bunch of bread rolls, commenting optimistically: "Can't go wrong," Yet, her excitement dwindled when she found herself faced with more and more bread all past its best.

Holding up yet another pack of rolls, Aaliyah lamented: "Oh no... they're actually hard as rocks! What am I going to do with them? This is such a fail." After rummaging through and pulling out several packets of bread rolls, some of which were even "burnt", her hope seemed deflated. Despite ending up with four six-packs of rolls in addition to two bags stuffed with more, most turned out to be a bust.

Although she noted the rolls in the six-packs could be eaten, the rest left much to be desired. Demonstrating just how tough they were, she said in dismay: "What am I going to do with that? Come on... I know it's a Too Good To Go bag, but there's also what's edible. Would say, this was a big fat fail. And I won't be getting the Morrisons one again."

Nevertheless, a spokesperson for Morrisons reiterated to us their stance: "Customers and colleagues continue to tell us how much they value Too Good To Go's Surprise Bags from Morrisons. It saves customers money while also helping us to play our part in reducing food waste.

"Each Too Good To Go bag should contain quality food nearing its sell-by date, available at a reduced price. On this occasion, those standards fell short and we apologise to the customer for their experience."

Too Good To Go has also been approached for comment.
